Just this month, digging in the archives, I stumbled across a storage box filled with videos – on VHS tapes. It took a month, but I finally got my hands on a working VHS player.
What a treasure I found! The tapes do not reflect the high-resolution images we expect today, and the sound is sometimes less clear than we might hope. But the images, the voices, and the memories from more than thirty years ago still bring laughter, gratitude, and joy. As you watch, I hope you enjoy the memories as much as I enjoyed putting them back together.

Ken takes his family to the town where he went to elementary school, Kindergarten through 6th grade – Wheaton, Illinois. They visit the President Street house, the Evergreen Street house, downtown Wheaton, the Severson (grandparents) house on Kay Road, the city park where Ken played Little League baseball, and you’ll hear an original advertisement for SNAPPLE.
Family vacation: Spring Green, Wisconsin in 1992. Ken, Carolyn, Kristyn, Candace, and Kevin visit the Hunderdosse and Carver families, the Gates Farm, the community pool; perform a high-energy version of Blue Moon, spend a day at the water park, Crescent Lake Bible Camp, and much more. It’s a treasure of terrific family memories.
Greg and Vonnie Michels hosted Christmas at their home in Fort Collins. The Michels family, the Ken and Carolyn Kemps, all joined Jamie Ostrander and his family. This is the restoration of a classic 25-year-old video, filmed in analog VHS. It was a Christmas none of us will ever forget.
The resolution is not great, but the images bring back joyful memories. This one is best viewed on a smaller screen.
